Facelift for XC60 and PHEV versions with record electric range
Major design changes and refined interior for the XC60 Facelift. The Swedish manufacturer has revealed a substantial update for the XC60 mid-size SUV. The new model receives a noticeable aesthetic reconfiguration at the front, where the bumper, grille, hood and side wings have been redesigned. The iconic "Thor's Hammer" light signature is marked by new Matrix LED headlights.
The rear of the car has also been restyled, with a new tailgate, a redesigned bumper and revised LED taillights. The exterior is complemented by a new range of alloy wheels. Inside, the XC60 facelift offers added refinement with a completely new dashboard, new door panels, solid wood trim and the option of ventilated Nappa leather upholstery in Cardamom.
37.9 kWh battery and electric range of up to 200 km
The most important technical innovation for the XC60 facelift and XC90 SUVs is the introduction of the first plug-in hybrid powertrains that offer extended electric range. Thanks to the new 37.9 kWh battery pack, both models allow for considerable distances without consuming petrol:
- Volvo XC60 T6 AWD PHEV: Equipped with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine (180 hp) and an electric motor on the rear axle. It reaches 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and offers a record range of up to 200 km in electric mode.
- Volvo XC60 T8 AWD PHEV: It features a more powerful version of the combustion engine (250 hp) alongside the electric motor. It achieves the 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.8 seconds and provides an electric range of up to 189 km.
- Volvo XC90 PHEV: Uses the combination of 2.0 liters and electric motor (totaling 250 HP on the combustion engine), accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and offers an electric range of up to 164 km.
The maximum speed of all versions is electronically limited to 180 km/h.
Advanced assistive technologies
In addition to design and powertrain changes, the Volvo XC60 facelift receives a major upgrade in terms of safety and driver assistance. New systems include an active lane change assistant and a 360-degree surround camera system with 3D display for easier maneuvering in tight spaces.
Availability and estimated prices for the Romanian market
The new Volvo XC60 facelift and XC90 PHEV versions can already be ordered. Series production will begin this fall, with first deliveries in Romania expected at the end of the year or early next year.

Starting prices on the local market are influenced by the large battery capacity of 37.9 kWh, but customers will also be able to access the eco-bonuses offered through the Rabla Plus program for Plug-in Hybrid vehicles.
