Six decades of success, Toyota celebrates 60 years of Corolla with an anniversary edition exclusive to Europe
With an impressive legacy of over 57 million units sold globally since its debut in 1966, the Toyota Corolla remains undisputed as the best-selling car in history. To mark the 60th anniversary of the legendary compact car, the Japanese manufacturer has launched a special edition dedicated to the European market: the Corolla 60th Anniversary.
Refined exterior design and dedicated shades
The new anniversary edition is offered on all three body styles of the range — Hatchback, Touring Sports and Sedan — bringing an exclusive visual package:
- Distinctive colour palette: Hatchback and Touring Sports versions debut in exclusive New Boreal Metallic, combined with a contrasting Night Sky Black roof and pillars. The Sedan variant adopts Lunar Sky Blue. The range is completed by Platinum Pearl White and Ash Grey options.
- Wheels and special accents: The package includes 17-inch alloy wheels with a new 10-spoke design, finished in contrasting matt and complemented by black chrome lug nuts. The lower area of ??the front bumper and the outer sills are highlighted with silver accents, and the fog lamps receive dark contours.
- Body-specific features: Silver 60th Anniversary graphics are applied to the rear doors of all versions. In addition, the Touring Sports estate version adds a matte silver accent to the rear bumper, and the Sedan receives a fine silver strip on the lower edge of the trunk.
Personalized cabin and efficient engines
Inside, the attention to detail is reflected in the matt silver interior sills, inscribed with the anniversary logo, and in the black textile floor mats with matt silver inserts.
Under the hood, the Toyota Corolla 60th Anniversary relies on fifth-generation hybrid technology, being available with two propulsion options:
- 1.8 liters (140 hp): Available for all three body versions (Hatchback, Touring Sports and Sedan).
- 2.0 liters (178 hp): Reserved exclusively for the dynamic Hatchback and Touring Sports variants.
With this limited edition, Toyota pays tribute to a car that has defined modern mobility for six decades, combining a legacy of reliability with a contemporary aesthetic package created specifically for customers on the European continent.
Availability and price estimates for the Romanian market
The Japanese manufacturer has not yet communicated official figures for the European market, but orders for the special edition are expected to open towards the end of this year or early next year, with the first deliveries to Toyota dealerships in Romania expected for the first quarter.
Compared to the current price level of the Corolla range in Romania, we can estimate the price range for the anniversary edition:
- 1.8 Hybrid version (140 HP): Estimated starting price between €28,500 and €31,000 (VAT included), depending on the body variant (Sedan, Hatchback or Touring Sports).
- 2.0 Hybrid version (178 HP): Estimated price between €33,500 and €36,000 (VAT included), available exclusively on Hatchback and Touring Sports variants.
Final prices will vary depending on the trim level from which the anniversary package is derived (most likely positioned above the average Dynamic trim level). The model will also be eligible in Romania for eco-bonuses granted through the Rabla program for hybrid vehicles, which will reduce the final purchase price.
