Polestar 4 gets a major upgrade: Revised suspension, expanded standard equipment and a simplified lineup
The Swedish electric performance car manufacturer has announced a series of important improvements for its electric coupe, the Polestar 4. The new revised version promises superior driving dynamics, a much clearer equipment structure and can already be ordered.
Optimized dynamic behavior: Recalibrated suspension and steering
The most important technical change to the new Polestar 4 concerns the dynamic behavior of the chassis. The brand's engineers have developed a completely revised suspension to guarantee better control of the car without sacrificing comfort. The list of technical innovations includes:
New shock absorbers and new springs optimized for more efficient absorption of bumps;
New anti-roll bars, designed to reduce body roll during tight turns.
In addition, the steering system has been finely recalibrated. This update offers increased comfort when driving over long distances (grand touring), but also significantly improved agility when the driver decides to adopt a sporty driving style.
Smart aesthetic differentiation between the three versions
The engine and transmission range has been restructured to simplify the configuration process. Customers can now choose between three clear versions: Rear Motor (rear wheel drive), Dual Motor (all-wheel drive) and Dual Motor with Performance Pack.
To differentiate them at a glance, Polestar introduced a discreet color code in the cabin, applied to the seat belts and the rotary knob for controlling the multimedia system:
Rear Motor: All-black seat belts and rotary knob;
Dual Motor: Black belts and buttons, but enriched with an elegant gold insert;
Dual Motor Performance: It's all about exclusivity, with the belts and rotary knob made entirely in the gold shade (Swedish Gold) specific to the performance division.
Extended standard features: Business and Prime packages
The trim level structure has been simplified and the list of standard features has increased significantly, providing better residual value.
Business equipment: Focuses on active assistance and driving safety. This adds advanced systems such as Pilot Assist, Lane Change Assist and Park Assist, along with privacy glass rear windows.
Prime Equipment: Represents the top of the range in terms of comfort, luxury and technology. The package adds:
Harman Kardon premium audio system and Head-up Display;
Dedicated multimedia screens for the rear seats;
Electrically adjustable rear seats with heating function;
3-zone automated air conditioning system;
Illuminated exterior logo and Pixel LED technology headlights;
Electrically operated tailgate.
