900 km range and unbeatable price - The new Jaecoo 7 Full-Hybrid aims for the SUV podium in Romania
The Romanian car market is receiving a new strong competitor in the compact SUV segment. The Chinese brand Jaecoo officially launches the full-hybrid version of the Jaecoo 7 model on the local market. Officially known as the Super Hybrid System (SHS), the new model promises record thermal efficiency, state-of-the-art technology and an extremely competitive starting price, available from 29,457 euros for the launch period.
A smashing success in Europe
This launch comes amid the Chinese automaker's rapid rise in European markets. In 2025, Jaecoo sold over 53,000 units of the 7 SUV globally.
This year, the model made a real splash in the UK, where it became the best-selling car in March, registering over 10,000 registrations. The massive success in the UK was largely due to this plug-in, full-hybrid powertrain, which attracted customers with its ease of use and low running costs.
The technology behind the Super Hybrid System
Unlike plug-in systems, the classic hybrid version of the Jaecoo 7 does not require connection to a charging station. At the heart of the assembly is a highly efficient 1.5-liter gasoline engine, capable of a remarkable thermal efficiency of 44.5%.
Assisted by a powerful electric unit, the system delivers a total of 224 horsepower. The resources are enough to propel the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. Beyond the dynamics, the Chinese promise excellent consumption figures: an average of just 5.5 liters/100 km and a combined range exceeding 900 kilometers on a single tank of fuel.
Two trim levels and top technology
Customers in Romania can choose between two well-structured equipment levels: Comfort and Exclusive.
Even in the starting configurations, the Jaecoo 7 places a special emphasis on safety and digitalization. Depending on the variant chosen, the Chinese SUV comes equipped with:
- A massive central multimedia screen, with a diagonal of 14.9 inches;
- An advanced camera system with a 540-degree panoramic view (which allows viewing of obstacles including under the car floor);
- 8 airbags offered as standard;
- A complete active safety package that integrates 20 intelligent driver assistance features (ADAS).

Jaecoo enters the Romanian market with an aggressive pricing policy, offering substantial discounts for first-time buyers:
- Jaecoo 7 Comfort: It has a list price of 34,490 euros (VAT included), but the special launch price drops to 29,457 euros.
- Jaecoo 7 Exclusive: The top variant has a list price of 37,490 euros (VAT included), being available at launch for 32,490 euros.
