The new Audi A6 Allroad has arrived in Romania: Here's how much it costs and what the German off-road station wagon offers
Just a few days after its world premiere, the new Audi A6 Allroad officially enters the Romanian market. The Ingolstadt-based manufacturer has opened order lists for the new generation of the off-road station wagon, a model that promises more space, top technology and increased off-road capabilities.
For starters, Romanian customers will have a single engine option available, and the starting price is set at 84,128 euros, VAT included.
Wider, taller, more ready for adventure
The new iteration of the Audi A6 Allroad comes with visible changes in proportions, emphasizing its robust character. Compared to the previous generation, the new model is 84 millimeters wider (including the axles), offering improved stability and a much more imposing presence on the road.
Off-road capabilities have not been overlooked either: ground clearance has increased by 16 millimeters, providing added safety and flexibility on unpaved roads or in difficult winter conditions.
Under the hood: MHEV efficiency and an absolute Plug-in Hybrid premiere
The complete range of engines announced by the manufacturer includes two distinct options, but the debut on the local market is made exclusively under the sign of diesel:
- 3.0-liter V6 diesel mild-hybrid (MHEV): This is the only engine available in the initial launch phase in Romania. It develops 299 HP and a generous 580 Nm of torque, making it an ideal option for fast laps and long journeys, with optimized consumption thanks to the mild hybrid system.
- 2.0-liter Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV): A first for the Allroad range, available at a later date. This plug-in hybrid powertrain develops a total of 367 horsepower and 500 Nm, propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds. The 20.7 kWh battery provides a purely electric range of up to 95 kilometers, making it ideal for emission-free daily urban commuting.
Standard configurations and features for Romania
In Romania, customers have a single well-defined equipment line at their disposal. The exterior color palette includes 8 shades: a plain paint (Arkona White, included in the base price) and 7 other metallic options. The wheel options are also generous, ranging in size from 19 to 21 inches.
Although the starting price exceeds the 84,000 euro threshold, Audi increases it with a rich list of standard features:
- Performance and dynamics: quattro all-wheel drive, S Tronic automatic transmission and the famous adaptive air suspension (essential for ground clearance control).
- Exterior: 19-inch wheels, LED headlights and taillights, Arkona White exterior color.
- Interior and comfort: S Line interior package, sports front seats (manually adjustable and heated), fabric upholstery with contrasting stitching in Cardamom Beige and aluminum interior trim.
- Technology: Automatic dual-zone climate control and the Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus digital instrument panel.
Conclusion
Even if fans of plug-in hybrid engines have a little more to wait until the introduction of the electrified version on our market, the V6 diesel MHEV engine remains an extremely solid choice, refined and perfectly adapted to the spirit of a vehicle designed for complete freedom of movement. The new Audi A6 Allroad can already be configured and ordered at authorized dealers in the country.
