American Muscle on European Soil: The New Dodge Charger Officially Returns to the Old Continent
The era of pure American performance cars has officially crossed the Atlantic. After the Ford Mustang proved that Europeans appreciate the free spirit of muscle car culture, Dodge is stepping up its game and announcing the official return of the legendary Charger to Europe.
The new generation, initially launched on the North American market, comes to the Old Continent in a formula adapted to modern regulations and requirements: customers will be able to choose between state-of-the-art pure electric propulsion and supercharged internal combustion engines.
If we look at the lines of the new model, we notice how the American designers managed to preserve the aggressive and imposing silhouette of the classic Charger. The massive front end and wide rear, however, hide a completely new platform (STLA Large), capable of hosting radically different propulsion technologies.
Dodge Charger Daytona: The electric era with track genes
For the first time in history, fans of the brand will be able to order a fully electric version, officially called the Charger Daytona. Built on a modern architecture, the zero-emission model promises remarkable raw performance. Regardless of the power level chosen, energy comes from a massive battery pack with a capacity of 100.5 kWh.
The electrical options are divided into two distinct variants:
| Version | Maximum Power | Estimated Range | Specific Features |
| Daytona R/T | 536 hp | 510 km | Balance between range and rapid acceleration |
| Daytona Scat Pack | 670 hp | 420 km | Brutal power delivery, Donut and Drift driving modes |
At fast charging stations, the electric Charger system supports power outputs of up to 350 kW. This allows the battery to go from 20% to 80% in just 27 minutes, a major advantage for long driving sessions. To maintain the brand's dramatic character, the electric versions come equipped with the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system, an artificial sound generator that imitates the low-pitched tone of a traditional V8 engine.
Goodbye V8, hello twin-turbo "Sixpack"
For purists who aren't ready to make the leap to electrification, Dodge is keeping internal combustion engines in its lineup. However, the famous HEMI V8 is being phased out, replaced by a much more refined and efficient 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-6.
Dubbed the "Sixpack", this petrol engine will be available in two power configurations:
- A basic 420 horsepower version, ideal for the daily driver.
- A top-of-the-line 550 horsepower version, dedicated to those looking for intense acceleration.
Another absolute first for this generation is the diversification of body styles. European customers can configure the new Charger in both coupe (two-door) and sedan (four-door) formats. In addition, to efficiently manage the huge power resources on European roads, the new model comes equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD).
Availability and prices in Romania
At the European level, the announced starting price for the new Dodge Charger is 66,000 euros for the entry-level versions.
In Romania, the new model will be available through networks of authorized importers and dealers specializing in premium and American cars (such as Plus Autotrade or Silver Motors).
While the base models with a 420 HP thermal engine will hover around the 66,000 euro threshold, the top-of-the-line pure electric versions, such as the 670 HP Daytona Scat Pack, will reach the local market at estimated prices between 89,000 and 95,000 euro, depending on the selected performance packages (such as the Track package, which includes adaptive suspension and oversized Brembo brakes).
The first units of the new generation Dodge Charger will be delivered to customers in Europe starting in September. Reservations and pre-order lists are already open at local partners, the model is set to become an exotic and extremely rare presence on the country's roads.
