The Evolution of Silent Luxury: Rolls-Royce Unveils the New Spectre Series II 2027

The evolution of absolute luxury: Rolls-Royce launches Spectre Series II, with increased autonomy and spectacular finishes

Rolls-Royce has officially unveiled the Spectre Series II, a major update to its first all-electric super-coupé. Originally launched in 2022 as a trailblazer, the Spectre quickly confirmed the British manufacturer’s intuition, becoming the brand’s second best-selling model globally in 2025.

The new Series II version refines this recipe for success, bringing substantial technical improvements requested by customers, along with an impressive suite of aesthetic elements and innovative materials.

Silent Performance: Extended Battery Life and Faster Charging

While the Spectre's initial performance already exceeded public expectations, Goodwood engineers have recalibrated the powertrain to deliver increased efficiency and more dynamic control. Thanks to redesigned battery cell technology, the Spectre Series II delivers superior figures:

  • 18% increased range: The new model can now travel up to 390 miles (approximately 627 km) on a single charge, according to the WLTP standard.
  • Charging time reduced by 14%: Charging times at fast stations are now considerably shorter.
  • Impressive torque: The standard version develops 442 kW of power and 1,015 Nm of torque, which rises to 1,100 Nm in Spirited Mode.

A sculpted exterior design and an exclusive new shade

Rolls-Royce has retained the sleek fastback profile and distinctive headlamps that made the model famous, but has introduced fresh visual elements, including a solid Ethereal Blue exterior colour, specifically designed to enhance the flowing surfaces of the bodywork.

Another absolute novelty is the 23-inch forged alloy wheels. They feature a highly faceted multi-spoke design, capable of reflecting light from any angle. Each wheel is hand-finished for up to six hours to achieve perfect, diamond-like definition, and are available in partially or fully polished versions.

The Interior: From Bamboo Fabrics to Astronomical Micro-Perforations

Spectre has become one of the most sought-after “texture canvases” for the Bespoke personalisation programme, surpassed in customer choice only by the flagship Phantom. For Series II, Rolls-Royce introduces environmentally friendly materials and revolutionary processing techniques:

1. Duality Twill (Bamboo Fabric)

For the first time, the cabin can be upholstered in Duality Twill, a contemporary textile made from rayon derived from bamboo. Inspired by the bamboo gardens of the Côte d’Azur (near Sir Henry Royce’s former winter residence), this interior can incorporate up to 2.6 million stitches and 16 kilometres of thread, requiring 25 hours of handwork.

2. Placed Perforation (Artistically Perforated Leather)

The leather seats can be personalized with a complex perforated pattern, inspired by the reflections of clouds in the moonlight. The pattern contains no less than 78,138 perforations made at different millimetric sizes (0.8 mm, 1.0 mm and 1.2 mm), creating an atmospheric dispersion effect reminiscent of the starry sky.

3. Brindled Walnut Veneer and Digital Gallery

The dashboard is enhanced with a sustainably sourced walnut veneer combined with eucalyptus fibres, offering a spectacular ‘tiger stripe’ pattern. In addition, the front panel now houses an illuminated gallery made up of 8,108 individual ‘pixels’, which mimic the mist that lies over the South Downs hills near the factory. A new analogue clock, inspired by aviation instruments, highlights a solid stainless steel Spirit of Ecstasy statuette, illuminated from below.

Black Badge Spectre Series II: The Dark Side of Performance

For customers who want a more rebellious and intense character, the Black Badge version takes electric performance to another level. In Infinity mode, the car unleashes 500 kW of power.

Visually, the package brings the Iced Black finish, transforming the exterior chrome elements (grille frame, door handles, Spirit of Ecstasy statuette) into a matte, satin texture. However, the vertical bars of the famous Pantheon grille remain polished to maintain the unmistakable identity of the brand. The Black Badge version also receives exclusive seven-spoke wheels, finished with fine glass particles for a discreet sparkle.

"Spectre was conceived first as a true Rolls-Royce – defined by quietness, presence and refinement – ??and only then as an electric car."

Data collected by Rolls-Royce shows that while the Spectre is typically part of a seven-car garage, its owners tend to drive it more often on a daily basis and solo than previous petrol-powered models (such as the Wraith or Dawn). One European customer even covered over 50,000 km in just two years after delivery, demonstrating that the electric refinement and improved range transform this super-coupe from a collector’s item to an ideal everyday companion.
