Nissan Qashqai is a European phenomenon, 4 million customers and a strong share on the Romanian market
The Nissan Qashqai has reached a historic milestone in the continental car market, with the Japanese manufacturer officially announcing that it has surpassed the 4 million mark sold in Europe since its debut. Considered the pioneer of the modern compact crossover segment, the model has dominated European preferences for two decades, a performance supported by an impressive collection of over 110 international awards and the title of "Car of the Year" won in over 20 different countries.
The massive commercial success is the result of a strategy tailored exclusively to European requirements. Each model destined for the old continent is designed at Nissan Design Europe in London, developed at the Nissan Technical Centres Europe in Cranfield and Barcelona, ??and assembled at the reference plant in Sunderland, UK. This strong regional footprint has allowed the model to constantly evolve, moving from a simple alternative to classic hatchbacks in 2006, to modern versions equipped with advanced e-POWER hybrid technology.
“Reaching four million satisfied customers in Europe is a tremendous moment for Qashqai and reflects the spirit of innovation, the commitment and craftsmanship of our design, engineering and manufacturing teams, as well as the trust and loyalty our customers have placed in this car,” said Massimiliano Messina, President of Nissan Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania.
Impact on the Romanian market and pricing policy
On the Romanian market, Nissan Qashqai has established itself since the first generation as one of the most desirable volume SUVs, its sales performance being a central pillar for the Japanese brand's market share locally. Romanian customers have particularly appreciated the generous ground clearance, urban versatility and competitive price-to-feature ratio. Over the years, Qashqai has consistently featured in the top of new vehicle registrations in its segment, competing for top positions in the official statistics of the Automobile Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA).
Regarding the current offer from the official network in Romania, the starting price for a new Nissan Qashqai starts at 26,190 euros including VAT. This value is associated with basic promotional campaigns aimed at individuals, which include financing advantages and an extended warranty of up to 6 years without mileage limit. Higher versions, such as variants equipped with X-Tronic automatic transmission, advanced ProPILOT assistance technologies or the revolutionary e-POWER hybrid propulsion system (where the gasoline engine works exclusively as a generator for the electric one), have prices that rise to the threshold of 31,000 - 37,690 euros, depending on the equipment level chosen (Acenta, N-Connecta or premium Tekna).
At the same time, the model's success on the new vehicle market has generated huge momentum on the second-hand market in Romania. Qashqai is one of the most traded used cars in the country, maintaining a stable resale value thanks to the recognized reliability of its engines. Models from previous generations register average prices on domestic platforms that vary between 8,500 and 20,000 euros, representing a top option for families looking for a robust and economical vehicle.
