Mercedes-AMG expands electric GT 4-Door Coupé range - new GT 53 debuts with 544 HP and over 800 km range
Mercedes-AMG is officially expanding its portfolio of high-performance electric models with the introduction of a new entry-level version: the Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4-Door Coupé. The new model joins the more powerful GT 55 and GT 63 variants launched earlier this year, offering a balanced package between the dynamic performance characteristic of the Affalterbach division and optimized efficiency for everyday driving.
Dynamic performance and charging at 600 kW
Unlike the higher-end versions in the range, the new GT 53 uses an architecture with two electric motors — one distributed on each axle — thus ensuring permanent all-wheel drive. The propulsion system develops a combined power of 544 horsepower and maximum torque of 800 Nm.
- Acceleration 0-100 km/h: 3.9 seconds.
- Top speed: 230 km/h electronically limited (value that can be increased to 250 km/h by ordering the optional Driver's Package).
- Battery and autonomy: The battery has a generously sized capacity of 106 kWh, ensuring a theoretical autonomy of over 800 kilometers in the mixed cycle.
- Charging time: The system supports a maximum recharging power of 600 kW, which allows for the addition of 534 kilometers of autonomy in just 10 minutes at a suitable ultra-fast station.
AMG-specific acoustic and dynamic experience
To maintain the emotional connection with the brand's tradition, the Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4-Door Coupé integrates technology that simulates the gear changes of a conventional transmission.
At the same time, the dedicated audio system reproduces the acoustics of a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder internal combustion engine inside and out, the sound profile being taken and adapted directly from the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Coupé model.
Price and availability for Romania
In the German market, official orders for the new Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4-Door Coupé open on August 13, with the model having a base price of 115,430 euros (taxes included).

Although the official local representative office is to publish the full configurator in the coming period, the figures can be estimated based on Western European markets and the current pricing structure:
- Estimated starting price: Between 115,500 euros and 118,000 euros (VAT included) for standard equipment.
- Availability: Romanian order bookings are expected to begin shortly after the German launch, towards the end of August or early fall, and first deliveries to customers are expected for the last quarter of the year.
