Mercedes-AMG says goodbye to its most powerful hot hatch with the new A 45 S Final Edition
Mercedes-AMG is marking the end of an era for high-performance hatchbacks powered exclusively by internal combustion engines. The Affalterbach-based manufacturer has officially unveiled the new AMG A 45 S 4Matic+ Final Edition, a farewell edition designed to celebrate the world's most powerful four-cylinder production engine.
Exclusive exterior design by Manufaktur division
To distinguish this special edition from the series versions, the Manufaktur customization division has prepared two special body colors: Magno Mountain Grey (with a matte finish) and Jet Black.
The visual language of the final edition is accentuated by a series of carefully executed details:
- Contrasting elements: The door handles are made exclusively in dark chrome, while the exterior mirror caps are finished in black and accentuated by yellow outlines.
- Wheels and brakes: The 19-inch wheels are painted in matte black, housing brake calipers finished in gloss black, inscribed with the white AMG logo.
- Optional Graphics: Special side graphics can be applied to the front doors, which include the oversized "45 S" lettering in shades of yellow and black with a white outline.
The model comes standard with the AMG Night Package and AMG Night Package II, which add a dark chrome finish to the quad exhausts, grille and emblems. The AMG Aerodynamics Package is available as an option, which adds an extended front splitter, a generous spoiler and a pronounced aerodynamic diffuser.
Sporty interior with special “Final Edition” accents
Inside, Mercedes-AMG maintains the exclusive, performance-oriented line. The AMG Performance sports seats are upholstered in a combination of Artico eco-leather and black Microcut microfiber, highlighted by yellow contrasting stitching.
Among the specific elements of this version are:
- Exclusive "45 S Final Edition" badge located on the center console.
- Brushed aluminum inserts and decorative trim.
- Aluminum sills with yellow illuminated AMG lettering.

Estimated price and availability on the Romanian market
The German manufacturer has not yet announced official list prices for the limited edition, but its cost can be estimated by comparing it to existing models on the local market.
In Romania, a Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4Matic+ model in standard version starts at approximately 72,500 – 76,500 euros (VAT included). Considering that the Final Edition package includes top options as standard equipment (Manufaktur paint, AMG Night I & II packages, microfiber interior and dedicated aesthetic elements), it is expected that the starting price in the configurators of dealers in Romania will exceed the threshold of 85,000 – 90,000 euros.
The opening of orders for the special edition is expected in the coming period, and the first deliveries to customers in Romania will take place towards the end of the year or early next year. Being a farewell edition, the model will be produced in a limited number of copies, quickly becoming a collector's item for brand enthusiasts.
