The new Lamborghini Urus SE Performante develops 812 HP and rewrites the rules of physics
Automobili Lamborghini has officially unveiled the most powerful, fastest and most technologically advanced Urus ever created: the Urus SE Performante. This next-generation "Super SUV" not only adopts plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology, but also uses it as a weapon of mass destruction for track and road records. With a staggering combined power of 812 HP and a stratospheric torque of 1,000 Nm, the new monster from Sant'Agata Bolognese becomes the new absolute benchmark in the ultra-performance SUV segment.
Hypercar Performance in an SUV Body
The heart of the new Urus SE Performante is an advanced hybrid propulsion system that perfectly combines the visceral character of the internal combustion engine with the instantaneity of electric propulsion.
The internal combustion engine: A refined 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which develops 620 hp on its own.
Electric motor: A permanent magnet unit strategically integrated ahead of the 8-speed automatic transmission, ready to provide an instant boost of torque.
Raw performance:
- 0-100 km/h: Just 3.3 seconds.
- 0-200 km/h: A staggering 10.8 seconds.
- Maximum speed: 312 km/h.
Although it is a track-focused beast, the Urus SE Performante also hides a highly refined urban side. Thanks to a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery cleverly placed under the boot floor for an optimal center of gravity, the SUV can drive purely electrically (EV mode) for a distance of over 60 km, reaching a top speed of 130 km/h in complete silence.
A Rigorous Diet: Mass/Power Ratio of 3 kg/HP
To proudly carry the "Performante" name, the Italian engineers didn't just add horsepower. They put the car on a strict carbon fiber diet, managing to reduce the overall weight by 32 kg compared to the standard Urus SE model, tipping the scales at 2,473 kg. This resulted in an astonishing weight-to-power ratio of just 3 kg/hp.
Extensive use of carbon is found on the bonnet (now with an aggressive “power dome” design), roof, wheel arches and rear diffuser. Another major contribution to weight reduction is the titanium sports exhaust system developed together with Akrapovi?, which is supplied as standard. It saves over 10 kg and eliminates the classic “X-cross” connection between the cylinder flanks, giving the car a pure, brutal and extremely clean soundtrack.
“The Urus SE Performante represents the highest level of performance, driving precision and emotional engagement ever achieved by the Urus, while maintaining the versatility that has made it famous. It is the result of combining state-of-the-art hybrid technology with advanced vehicle dynamics.” – Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.
Top Technology: 6D Sensor and AURA Suspension
How does a car weighing almost 2.5 tons manage to approach corners like a purebred sports car? The secret lies in the predictive control technology taken directly from the Fenomeno limited edition, previously presented by the brand.
The Urus SE Performante integrates a revolutionary 6-axis (6D) sensor located right in the car's center of gravity. It measures spatial accelerations and angular velocities of roll, pitch and yaw in real time, allowing the on-board computer to anticipate the car's behavior on the road instead of reacting only after the movement has occurred.
Data Sheet & Dynamics: Key Innovations
| Technology / Component | Direct Impact on Driving |
| AURA Dual-Chamber Air Suspension (2K2V) | The two-chamber, two-valve configuration reduces the roll gradient by 55% during sporty driving and lowers comfort-related vibrations by 25% for a superior ride. |
| Integrated Power Brake (IPB) System | Overcomes conventional limitations, increasing braking power by 10% and improving responsiveness; the 200-0 km/h braking distance drops to less than 130 meters. |
| Wider Track Width (+16 mm) | Significantly improves lateral stability, delivering sharper steering response and a more efficient distribution of lateral forces across the tires during tight cornering. |
| S-Duct Aerodynamics & NACA Ducts | Boosts front aerodynamic downforce by 22% (and overall downforce by 23% compared to the Urus SE), while optimizing thermal management and improving brake cooling efficiency by 8%. |
"Bold Sportiness" Design and "Rally" Driving Style
Visually, the designers led by Mitja Borkert have applied the concept "We give adrenaline a shape". The front end is much more sculpted, integrating massive air vents (S-Duct) on the hood to satisfy the thermal appetite of the hybrid system. The rear is dominated by the largest diffuser ever fitted to a Urus and hexagonal elements inspired by the legendary Countach, all complemented by new 23-inch wheels with a "Y" design.
Inside, the "Feel like a pilot" philosophy is fully felt. The cabin is covered in sustainable CorsaTex by Dinamica microfiber (which saves another 2.7 kg) and introduces dual 12.3-inch screens with a graphical interface derived from the Revuelto hypercar.
On the "Tamburo" selector in the center console, alongside the established modes (Strada, Sport, Corsa, EV, Hybrid, Performance, Recharge), an absolute premiere for this variant appears: RALLY Mode. It has been specially calibrated to deliver maximum fun, agility and controlled oversteer (drifts) on gravel and dirt surfaces.
Ready to roll on dedicated Pirelli P Zero tires equipped with Elect technology (or Bridgestone Potenza Race semi-slicks for the track), the Lamborghini Urus SE Performante is not just an evolution, but the absolute pinnacle of the Super SUV era. It is a demonstration of brute force and digital engineering, capable of transforming any type of terrain into pure adrenaline.
How much does the exclusive Super SUV cost and when does it arrive in Romania?
A car that rewrites the laws of physics and redefines the concept of a “Super SUV” obviously comes with a price tag to match its status. Although Automobili Lamborghini has yet to release an official, fixed price list for each market, industry estimates and the history of top-of-the-line versions give us a very clear picture of the financial effort required to own this beast.
How much does it cost to enter the 812-hp club? Given that the standard Urus SE (the base hybrid) starts at around €260,000 before taxes, the Urus SE Performante version — with its massive carbon fiber package, included titanium Akrapovi? exhaust, and revolutionary 6D sensor technology — will climb the price ladder considerably.
- Estimated starting price (excluding taxes): Approximately €310,000 – €330,000.
- Estimated price in Romania (with 19% VAT included): It will start from approximately €370,000 – €390,000.
Of course, this is just the base price. Lamborghini customers almost always turn to the Ad Personam customization program. A special matte paint (like the new Verde Hydra), 23-inch wheels, additional carbon interior trim and advanced assistance systems will make most of the examples delivered to Romania easily exceed the psychological threshold of €450,000.
Availability on the Romanian market and waiting lists. If you already have your budget ready, you should know that patience is a mandatory virtue when it comes to a model of such magnitude.
- Opening of orders: Pre-order lists are usually opened immediately after the official presentation through the only official importer in the country, Lamborghini Bucharest.
- First deliveries (estimated): Series production is scheduled to begin towards the end of this year, which means that the first Urus SE Performante units will reach the roads (and highways) of Romania at the end of 2026 or early 2027.
Important note for collectors: Allocations for Eastern Europe, including Romania, are extremely limited. Lamborghini's Performante series models tend to sell out completely for the first two years of production within the first few months of launch. Therefore, the new Urus SE Performante will not only be the fastest SUV in the country, but also one of the rarest appearances on the road.
