Kia launches new XCeed 2026: Second facelift for the brands most popular crossover enters production

Kia XCeed gets a new identity: Second facelift transforms the brand's best-selling crossover into a technological fortress

Kia has officially lifted the curtain on the new XCeed facelift, marking the second major update for one of its most successful models in the European market. In an era where the line between sporty hatchbacks and rugged SUVs is becoming increasingly blurred, the XCeed redefines the crossover concept through visual refinement and, most importantly, an impressive technological leap.

The model will enter production on May 29 at Kia's ultra-tech hub in Žilina, Slovakia, where the brand's new electric models, the EV4 and EV2, are also assembled.

A digital evolution: The interior becomes the center of attention

While the exterior of the XCeed adopts elements of the new “Opposites United” design language – combining the agility of a hatchback with the imposing presence of an SUV – the real revolution takes place inside. Kia has focused on an “always-connected” user experience, introducing features that were until recently reserved for luxury segments:

  • 12.3-inch Dual Panoramic Display: A seamless, high-resolution interface that unites the digital instrument cluster with the infotainment system, offering exceptional visual clarity.
  • Digital Key 2.0: Using Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, the new XCeed allows owners to lock, unlock and start the car using just their smartphone or smartwatch, without the need for a physical key, even in their pocket.
  • Premium Refinement: The interior has been revised with new accents, such as the slim-framed rearview mirror and gloss black gear selector panel, elements that raise the standard of comfort and aesthetics.

Versatile performance: From Mild-Hybrid to 177 hp

Under the hood, the XCeed continues to offer one of the most varied engine ranges in the C-segment. The brand's priority is flexibility, offering solutions for any type of driver:

  • Electrified efficiency: A wide range of Mild-Hybrid (MHEV) options designed to reduce emissions and consumption in urban environments.
  • Pure power: For those looking for dynamism, the 1.6 T-GDi Smartstream engine delivers no less than 177 HP, offering sporty performance on extra-urban roads.
  • Optimized road holding: Engineers have recalibrated the suspension and steering specifically for European roads, aiming for a better balance between ride comfort and cabin quietness.

XCeed in Romania: The success of a "best-seller" adapted to our roads

In Romania, the Kia XCeed has quickly established itself as a public favorite, being considered by many as a more stylish and maneuverable alternative to the Sportage SUV. The model's popularity in our country is largely due to the balance between generous ground clearance (ideal for curbs and unpaved roads) and compact dimensions that allow for easy navigation through busy urban traffic.

Availability and Prices

The new model (MY26) is already starting to appear in local dealers' offers, and interest is high due to the 7-year warranty (or 150,000 km), a traditional strong point for Kia in Romania.

  • Starting price: For the entry-level version (Style equipped with the 1.0 T-GDi MHEV 115 HP engine), list prices hover around EUR 31,235. However, through promotional programs and dealer offers (such as those in Alba-Iulia or Cluj), Romanian customers can purchase the new model at promotional prices starting from approximately EUR 23,800 (VAT included).
  • Higher versions: A well-equipped configuration, with the 1.5 T-GDi or 1.6 T-GDi engine and 7DCT automatic transmission, can reach approximately 27,000 - 32,000 EUR, depending on the technology packages chosen (City or Style).

The journalistic verdict:

With this second facelift, the Kia XCeed not only maintains its freshness, but also becomes an extremely serious competitor for models such as the Volkswagen T-Roc or the Mazda CX-30. For the Romanian driver who wants a car that is "good for everything" - from going to the office to vacations in the mountains - the new XCeed seems to be, once again, the rational choice that does not compromise on design.
