Jeremy Clarkson reveals he has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer
The former "Top Gear" and "The Grand Tour" presenter spoke openly about his secret battle with the disease in the final episodes of season 5 of "Clarkson's Farm."
Jeremy Clarkson, one of the most iconic, vocal and nonconformist figures in world media, has surprised the general public with an extremely personal confession. At 66 years old, the famous British journalist revealed that he has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. Although the diagnosis was made last spring, Clarkson has chosen to fight this battle discreetly, away from the spotlight, until now.
The revelation was made on his hit Amazon Prime show, Clarkson's Farm, in the final two episodes of season 5.
Diagnosis behind the cameras
Filming for this season took place during an intense period, from the end of 2024 to the summer of 2025. While fans watched him on screen managing the vicissitudes of agriculture with his characteristic humor, Clarkson was going through difficult moments in his private life.
The presenter said he received the grim diagnosis in May of last year (2025). Due to the aggressive nature of the disease, doctors acted quickly, and in July of that year, Clarkson underwent complex surgery, during which part of his prostate was removed.
"The good news is that I caught it early. When you hear the word 'cancer', your first instinct is to think the worst, but modern medicine and timely screening can work wonders," the former Top Gear star hinted.
Thanks to timely screening, doctors were able to perform surgery before the malignant cells spread, allowing the Briton to receive optimal treatment and get back on his feet quickly.
A tumultuous medical history: Clarkson, a survivor
This new setback isn't Jeremy Clarkson's only major health challenge. Over the past decade, his hectic lifestyle has taken its toll on him:
- 2017 – Severe pneumonia: The presenter was urgently hospitalized during a vacation in Mallorca, later confessing that the disease could have killed him if he had not received timely care.
- 2024 – Emergency heart surgery: Just a year before his cancer diagnosis, Clarkson underwent emergency heart surgery after doctors discovered that a major artery was completely blocked, putting him on the verge of a fatal heart attack.
A wake-up call for men's health
By making his diagnosis public on Clarkson's Farm, the filmmaker is not only providing complete transparency to his fans, but also raising an extremely important alarm bell regarding the importance of prevention. Prostate cancer is one of the most common oncological diseases among men, and early detection through routine tests (such as the PSA test) remains the key to saving lives.
Despite health problems, Jeremy Clarkson maintains his indomitable spirit and continues to devote his energy to his farm in Chipping Norton, proving once again the resilience that has transformed him into a television titan.
