Ferrari Luce: 550.000 euros for the brands first electric model

Luxury at High Voltage: Ferrari Luce and the 550,000 Euro Bet on Viitorul Electric

The news that Ferrari is preparing an electric model is no longer news, but the details that are starting to emerge from the “e-building” in Maranello are turning this project into a statement of strength. According to the latest information provided by Bloomberg, which cites well-placed sources within the company, the first zero-emission Ferrari – suggestively named Luce (Light) – will have a starting price of around 550,000 euros.

This figure is not just a financial milestone, but an aggressive strategic positioning: Luce will be around 100,000 euros more expensive than the Purosangue, the brand's current luxury SUV, confirming that Ferrari does not intend to democratize electric propulsion, but to elevate it to the rank of exclusive art.

Apple's Signature Design: When Jony Ive Meets Aerodynamics

Although the exterior is still under a thick layer of camouflage, fans have received the first official images of the interior, and the surprise is complete. The design was created in collaboration with LoveFrom, a company founded by the legendary Sir Jony Ive (former Apple chief designer).

Unlike the current trend of filling the dashboard with gigantic screens, Ferrari Luce relies on a "retro-analog" concept.

  • Steering wheel: Inspired by Nardi models from the 50s and 60s, it combines anodized aluminum with physical tactile buttons.
  • The interface: Flavio Manzoni, Ferrari's head of design, was blunt: "The idea that an electric car has to be a screen on wheels is nonsense."
  • The Start-up Experience: The key is a crystal object that is inserted into the console to "transfer energy" to the car, a symbolic gesture meant to preserve the mechanical ritual.

Performance: 1,000 Horsepower and "Boost Mode"

Underneath the bodywork that promises a "four-door GT" silhouette, Luce hides an enviable technical architecture. Propulsion is provided by four electric motors developed in-house, capable of delivering over 1,000 horsepower in Boost mode.

Specification Details
0-100 km/h Acceleration 2.5 seconds
Top Speed 310 km/h (193 mph)
Battery Capacity 122 kWh (gross)
Electrical Architecture 880V (350 kW Fast Charging)
Range (WLTP) ~530 km (approx. 330 miles)
Curb Weight 2.3 tonnes

The charging technology is equally impressive: the 880V architecture allows the recovery of 70 kWh in just 15 minutes, thus alleviating one of the great fears of future owners.

Ferrari Strategy: No Constraints for Collectors

A crucial aspect for purist fans is the sales policy. The brand's representatives have clarified a sensitive point: the purchase of the new Luce will not be a mandatory condition to maintain the status of "VIP customer" or to have access to future limited editions with internal combustion engines (V12 or V8). It is a gesture of respect for the brand's heritage, offering electric as an avant-garde option, not as an imposition.

"Luce is not just an electric car; it's a Ferrari that happens to be electric. The sound will not be digitally simulated, but will be a real acoustic signature of our high-revving engines (up to 30,000 RPM)," say sources in Maranello.

With its official debut scheduled for May 2026, the Ferrari Luce has the difficult task of proving that the spirit of the Prancing Horse can survive without the smell of burnt gasoline. At half a million euros, the ticket to the “silent” future of luxury is certainly a VIP one.

Do you think the absence of the V12 sound will be compensated by the design signed by Jony Ive or does Ferrari risk losing its "soul" in this electric transition?
