The urban mobility revolution continues, the new Dacia Spring 2027 reaches its second generation

Dacia is rewriting the rules of the electric segment by launching the second generation of the Spring model. The new model comes with a radical design change, a generous addition of space, modern technologies and charging solutions adapted to everyday life.

With the launch of the second generation Dacia Spring, the Mioveni-based manufacturer continues a remarkable success story. Since its launch in 2021, Spring has been sold in over 210,000 units in more than 40 countries, offering many drivers their first experience of 100% electric mobility.

The model's success is based on the authentic Dacia DNA: an intelligent electric vehicle in the A-segment, designed to strictly meet the daily needs of users. The new Dacia Spring retains the established name of the first generation, but changes absolutely everything else.

Exterior design

True to the Dacia philosophy, the New Spring emphasizes the essential, reconfirming its strong personality. The design is strongly geometric, structured, simple and functional, giving up any superfluous element.

The brand's visual identity is marked by the black decorative strips that connect the front and rear light blocks, emphasizing the vehicle's width and highlighting the light signature inspired by the Dacia Link emblem.

In terms of proportions, the New Spring becomes much more robust:

• Length: 3.85 meters (+15 cm compared to the previous generation)
• Width: 1.74 meters without mirrors (+18 cm)
• Color palette: Agave, Shadow Gray, Diamond Black and Glacier White.

The exterior protective elements are made of self-colored plastic with a linear texture, making them extremely resistant to scratches and daily wear and tear.

Interior design

Inside, the horizontal lines of the dashboard accentuate the feeling of space and ensure excellent readability of all road information.

The cabin's strengths include:

• Record boot capacity: 337 litres (expandable to 1,283 litres by folding the 50/50 split rear seat).
• Practical organization: Removable modular floor in two sections.
• Additional "Frunk" compartment: An optional 18-liter space under the front hood, unique in the A-segment, ideal for storing the charging cable.
• YouClip accessory system: Up to 3 standard anchor points (center console, trunk) for easy attachment of phone holders, bags, 3-in-1 drink holders or portable flashlight.

Motorization, batteries, autonomy and charging

The new Dacia Spring is equipped with a powertrain that develops 60 kW (80 HP) and a torque of 175 Nm. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 12.1 seconds, and the maximum speed reaches 130 km/h, ensuring easy handling both in urban traffic and on the highway.

Charging options and times (15% to 80%):

• Regular household outlet (6.6 kW AC): 9 hours.
• Reinforced socket: 5 hours and 40 minutes.
• 7 kW Wallbox: 2 hours and 55 minutes.
• Optional Charge Pack (11 kW AC + 50 kW DC): 1 hour and 55 minutes at 11 kW or 22 kW AC stations. Just 28 minutes at a 50 kW DC fast charging station.

Technologies: Push-button start, electric parking brake and Vehicle to Load

Designed for a stress-free driving experience, the New Spring introduces essential technological features for the urban segment:

• Push Button Start & Hands-Free Card: Accessing and starting your vehicle becomes extremely simple (standard on Journey level).
• Automatic electric parking brake: Simplifies maneuvering in traffic and provides more space on the center console.
• Urban maneuverability: Turning radius of just 4.95 meters, rear parking sensors and reversing camera.
• Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function: Included in the Charge Pack, it allows the car to power external 220V electrical consumers (electric bicycles, coffee makers, camping lights or small tools).
• "My Safety" feature: Allows the driver to quickly enable or disable their preferred assistance systems (ADAS) settings at every start-up.

Interior technologies and connectivity

Dacia maintains a smart balance between the ergonomics of physical climate controls and essential functions, while also integrating modern connectivity options.

• Media Control System (standard on Expression): Includes an ergonomic smartphone holder directly on the dashboard, steering wheel controls and call/media display directly on the 7-inch digital dashboard screen.
• Media Nav Live system (standard on Journey): Offers a generous 10.â.1-inch central touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, 8 years of connected navigation with real-time traffic data and map updates.
• Connected services via the app: Thermal pre-conditioning of the passenger compartment, charging scheduling and vehicle location directly from your phone.

Equipment: Expression and Journey versions

The New Dacia Spring range is structured simply and transparently in two equipment levels, both equipped with the 60 kW (80 HP) engine and the 27.5 kWh battery:

Expression: The basic package includes 15-inch Mura steel wheels with covers, remote central locking, electric windows and mirrors, manual air conditioning, automatic headlights, rear parking sensors, electric handbrake, Media Control system with USB-C port, 50/50 folding rear seat, split boot floor and 3 YouClip anchor points.

Journey: The top version adds on top of the Expression equipment: 16-inch Drava steel wheels, hands-free card, reversing camera, 10.1-inch Media Nav Live multimedia system with connected navigation, two USB-C ports, mixed TEP/textile upholstery and luggage compartment covers.

Availability and price for the Romanian market: European production and accessibility

A strategic step: Production moved to the Old Continent

One of the main criticisms of the first generation Dacia Spring was that the vehicle was manufactured in China. For the second generation, production is being moved to the Old Continent.

The new Dacia Spring is assembled at the Renault Group plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. This strategic move optimizes logistics chains, reduces the carbon footprint associated with transportation and ensures eligibility for European subsidy programs that condition the granting of financial incentives on European production.

Pricing structure and accessibility

The new model is positioned below the psychological threshold of 20,000 euros, before the application of any government subsidies or incentives.

Price positioning by equipment levels:

1. Expression equipment: Starting price below 18,000 euros.
2. Journey equipment: The top variant, equipped with the 10.1-inch multimedia screen, the Media Nav Live system and connected facilities, with a price under 20,000 euros.

By applying government programs in Romania, the effective purchase price decreases considerably, consolidating the Spring model's position as the most affordable 100% electric car on the local market.

Availability calendar

The first deliveries to customers of the new Dacia Spring produced in Slovenia are scheduled for early 2027, with the dealer network to open order lists in the period leading up to the commercial launch.
