Cupra launches the Raval Plus version in Romania, a more affordable version
Cupra is expanding its offensive in the electric city car segment and is introducing a new, highly competitive option to the market. The Cupra Raval, the first model developed on the Volkswagen Group's new compact architecture, is receiving the Raval Plus intermediate version. Strategically positioned just above the basic variant, the new variant promises to combine the brand's sporty spirit and aggressive design with a more moderate purchase price.
Performance and charging optimized for the city
The new Cupra Raval Plus relies on a 135 HP electric motor and a 37 kWh battery. This configuration ensures an official range of up to 300 kilometers in WLTP mode, making it ideal for daily commuting and quick urban trips.
On the charging side, the Spanish model proves to be extremely practical: it supports alternating current (AC) charging of up to 11 kW and direct current (DC) fast charging of up to 88 kW. Connected to a fast station, the Raval Plus' battery needs approximately 23 minutes to go from 10% to 80%.
Standard features and additional customization packages
Although it is a variant designed to offer a more affordable price, the Plus version comes well equipped straight from the factory. The standard equipment includes:
- Headlights and taillights with full LED technology;
- 18-inch alloy wheels;
- Automatic air conditioning in a single zone;
- Electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors;
- Thermally insulated windows;
- Ambient lighting integrated into the front.
For customers who want a higher level of comfort and technology, Cupra offers three well-structured optional packages:
- Edge Package: adds a 15W wireless smartphone charger, the useful Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function – ideal for powering external equipment directly from the car battery –, the keyless entry system and the ability to use your phone as a digital key.
- Drive package: brings added safety on long journeys through the Travel Assist 3.0 assistance package.
- Light & Sound Package: offers a premium acoustic experience with a 12-speaker Sennheiser audio system and expands the ambient lighting in the cabin.
Individual options available also include a towbar and a panoramic glass roof.
Prices for the Romanian market vs. Germany
While in Germany the new Raval Plus variant starts at 29,850 euros and is already available in the official configurator, on the Romanian market the prices are even more attractive.
In our country, the new Cupra Raval Plus is listed with a starting price of 29,167 euros (VAT included), becoming one of the most competitive proposals in the compact electric hatchback segment, especially if purchased through government subsidy programs.
For context, the Raval range debuts in Romania at 25,985 euros (VAT included) for the basic 115 HP version with the same 37 kWh battery. The new Raval Plus addition completes the range consisting of the Launch Edition special editions and the higher versions, offering an optimal balance between price, features and urban performance
