A new era in Ingolstadt: Audi launches the Nuvolari, the fastest and most powerful model in the brands history

Revolution in Ingolstadt: Audi launches Nuvolari, a 1001 horsepower hybrid monster and the fastest model in the brand's history

Audi is putting on its gala attire and officially entering the exclusive league of hypercars. The German manufacturer has officially presented its new exotic model, the Audi Nuvolari, a technological masterpiece equipped with a high-performance hybrid drive system. Capable of breaking the 350 km/h barrier, the Nuvolari officially becomes the most powerful and fastest production vehicle in the entire history of the brand with the four rings.

If you're hoping to get your hands on one, you'll need to move extremely quickly and have your accounts ready: production will be strictly limited to just 499 units, with first deliveries scheduled for the first half of 2027.

Sci-fi performances directly inspired by Formula 1

The new Audi Nuvolari not only looks spectacular, but also delivers figures that until recently were reserved exclusively for racing single-seaters. The hypercar sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds, and the speedometer needle reaches 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds.

This extreme performance is made possible by a massive package of technological innovations derived from Formula 1, including active aerodynamics, the predictive quattro ride system and a revolutionary chassis structure.

“With the Audi Nuvolari, we are accelerating technological progress,” says Gernot Döllner, CEO of AUDI AG. “This model demonstrates what is possible when you focus on technology, performance and execution through teamwork – and when we achieve progress together.”

A four-engine hybrid plant

The heart of the new Nuvolari is a complex hybrid propulsion system, consisting of an internal combustion engine and three electric motors, capable of developing a total power of 1001 HP.

Performance data sheet:

Component Technical Details Performance
Combustion Engine 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 (mid-mounted) 800 hp / 730 Nm / Up to 10,000 rpm
Electric Motors 3 axial flux motors 110 kW each
Front Axle 2 electric motors (oil-cooled) Maximum torque of 2,150 Nm
Battery Lithium-ion Gross capacity of 7.3 kWh

The mid-engine architecture defines the car’s proportions, giving it an aggressive, monolithic presence on the road. The exterior is painted in the brand’s new signature color, Titanium – the same shade used on the Audi Formula 1 car – which, in combination with exposed carbon elements, highlights the precise lines of the body.

“Quattro Predictive Ride”: The all-wheel drive of the future

The legendary quattro system is entering the digital age and becoming predictive. The car uses an extremely precise state model, which is constantly fed with data from sensors (steering angle, lateral acceleration, roll rate and grip level).

If the system anticipates a loss of grip in a corner, it acts proactively: it distributes torque to each wheel individually, subtly intervenes on the brakes and modifies the aerodynamic elements to generate downforce.

The driver can control the car's behavior via the rotary buttons on the steering wheel, with four standard driving modes available:

  • E-Hybrid: 100% electric driving for urban environments.
  • Balanced: An optimal mix of comfort, efficiency and performance.
  • Dynamic: Sharp reactions, maximum agility and sporty precision.
  • Dynamic+: The entire system is set to deliver a pure and emotional driving experience.

For those who want to race on the track, Track mode unlocks advanced traction control settings, from Wet and Dry modes, to Race or complete deactivation of assistance systems (TC Off).

Hand-developed carbon chassis and active aerodynamics

For the first time in the brand's history, Audi Space Frame (ASF) technology is combined with a body made entirely of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP). The carbon components are produced using Formula 1 autoclave technology and are laid down by hand in extremely meticulous processes. This has enabled the creation of complex geometries, such as the famous front S-duct, which guides air under the car to generate additional downforce.

Another first for the Audi series portfolio is the center-lock forged wheels.

Active aerodynamics are the piece de resistance: the adaptive rear spoiler can be adjusted automatically or manually in three configurations: Closed (retracted for maximum speed and minimum drag), Low Downforce (LD) and High Downforce (HD). In HD configuration, the aerodynamic system generates over 400 kg of downforce, ensuring incredible stability in corners. Furthermore, on straight lines, the driver can manually activate the DRS function via a button on the steering wheel to reduce drag and achieve maximum speed.

Racetrack brakes and minimalist interior

To safely stop such a monster, Audi has implemented the new Audi Ceramic Pro braking system (with brake-by-wire technology). On the front axle we find fixed 10-piston calipers and 420 mm discs, and on the rear axle 4-piston calipers and 410 mm discs. The F1-derived structural carbon discs have an internal cooling system that increases heat dissipation by 21%.

The system has an energy absorption capacity of up to 2.8 megawatts – being capable of extreme purely electric decelerations of up to 0.3 g during energy recovery phases, performance comparable to that of a current Formula 1 single-seater.

Inside, everything is reduced to the essentials. The cockpit is completely oriented towards the driver, and the color accent in the digital interface is a tribute to the legendary Auto Union Type C racing car from the 1930s. The cabin is visually divided into two areas: the front is finished in dark tones to enhance the driver's concentration, while the rear area uses the light shade Shadow Dune. Ultra-light seats with a carbon structure complete the motorsport atmosphere.

The model's name pays eternal tribute to Tazio Nuvolari, one of the most courageous, ingenious and determined drivers in the history of motor racing, reflecting the uncompromising spirit of this exceptional hypercar.
