BMW iX4 2027 - estimated prices in Romania, technical data, battery and WLTP autonomy
One year after the debut of the new BMW iX3, the first exponent of the new Neue Klasse electric era, the Bavarian manufacturer is expanding its range with the official presentation of the new BMW iX4. The new model takes over the advanced technical architecture of its platform sibling, adding a touch of visual dynamism through an SUV coupe-like body.
Exterior design: Athletic SUV coupe silhouette and sporty details
The exterior lines of the new BMW iX4 combine the minimalist language of the Neue Klasse philosophy with the athletic proportions typical of the brand's Sport Activity Coupe models.
The front end is taken from the iX3, dominated by a modern interpretation of the double grille and subtle LED headlights, which offer customizable light signatures depending on the trim level. The performance version iX4 M60 xDrive brings a more aggressive aesthetic package, highlighted by the M Yellow Lights, inspired by the world of factory racing.
The rear part concentrates the most important stylistic innovations:
- Horizontal LED taillights: Reinterpret the classic L-shaped graphic, providing a wide and low presence on the road.
- Aerodynamic elements: An integrated spoiler at the tailgate includes an additional brake light, while the M60 xDrive version benefits from a more pronounced upper spoiler to optimize downforce.
- Rims and customization options: Rim sizes range from 20 to 22 inches. The exterior color palette initially includes 9 shades, and a generous panoramic glass roof is optionally available.
Interior and technology: BMW Panoramic iDrive Concept
The cabin of the new iX4 is designed around the brand's new digital architecture, eliminating most physical controls in favor of an advanced tactile and visual interface.
The centerpiece is the BMW Panoramic iDrive system, which includes:
- BMW Panoramic Vision: Screen integrated at the base of the windshield, which projects essential information across the entire width of the driver's field of vision.
- 3D Head-Up Display: Three-dimensional projection directly onto the windshield for navigation and road directions.
- Central touchscreen: 17.9-inch diagonal display, oriented towards the driver.
- M Performance specific: The M60 variant adds a dedicated M sports steering wheel and special displays in the menus, such as the Powermeter instrument.
Onboard comfort is supported by 10-way electrically adjustable sports seats provided as standard, while for the soundtrack, customers can opt for a premium Harman Kardon audio system with 13 acoustic speakers and immersive Dolby Atmos technology.
Visual packages and equipment
BMW offers extensive configuration possibilities for the iX4 through theme packages:
- M Sport Package: Emphasizes the dynamic character through enlarged air intakes and dedicated aerodynamic elements.
- BMW Iconic Glow Package: Includes an illuminated front grille and adds state-of-the-art adaptive LED headlights.
- Shadowline Package: Replaces chrome inserts with gloss black finishes on the window frames and bodywork.

At launch, the new electric SUV coupe will be configurable in three distinct powertrain variants, all equipped with two electric motors and the xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system.

Availability and estimated prices for the Romanian market
The commercial launch of the new BMW iX4 is scheduled for March 2027, while the top-of-the-line M60 xDrive version will be available for order from January 2027.
Compared to the positioning in the Neue Klasse range and above the iX3 model, the estimated prices on the Romanian market (VAT included) will start from approximately:
- BMW iX4 40 xDrive: from approx. 72,000 – 74,000 euros
- BMW iX4 50 xDrive: from approx. 83,000 – 85,000 euros
